Hackney Council is looking for new members to refresh their Regeneration Design Advisory Group (RDAG) for 2021-2024 as it continues its ambitious in-house housing delivery programme.
The Council is looking for professionals with an awareness and knowledge of the borough from a range of disciplines including architecture, urban design, landscape/public realm, sustainable development, construction delivery and regeneration.
Chaired by Fred Manson, the RDAG began in 2014 and comprises design professionals and academics. Fred will continue to chair the panel through monthly peer reviews of Hackney’s emerging regeneration projects. Hackney’s regeneration model is forward-thinking in its approach to design. Since its establishment, the panel has ensured that sustainable, innovative and attractive buildings have been delivered across the borough.
Some of the Council’s award-winning projects have received guidance from the RDAG, including Kings Crescent (Karakusevic Carson Architects, Henley Halebrown, MUF Architecture/Art) which won both the RIBA London Awards and the RIBA National Award in 2018, and Aikin Court (Stephen Taylor Architects), which won the New London Homes Award in 2019.
To apply, please send a 300 word cover letter with a single-sided A4 CV to: RDAG@hackney.gov.uk. Applications open on 3 November and close on 27 November 2020. We will seek a panel that best reflects the diversity and inclusivity of the borough and the group particularly welcomes members from the Black, Asian and those with protected characteristics, women, people with disabilities and the LGBTQIA+ community.
