On Monday 24 May the government announced Hackney as one of nine areas across the country piloting a new scheme to support self isolation for those infected with Covid-19.
The funding provided by the government will help Hackney Council support vulnerable residents to self isolate if they become infected. This includes assistance such as providing alternative accommodation for those in shared or overcrowded accommodation, providing translation services to explain self isolation procedures, and rapid referral for food provision and financial assistance.
Hackney Council will also be providing tailored guides to support self-isolation for specific groups such as the clinically vulnerable, frontline workers, single parent households, student and migrant renters, and multigenerational households.
